Art Therapy

"Art therapy allows us to access our inner world, where healing and transformation can take place."

What is Art Therapy?

Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses creative processes, such as drawing, painting, and sculpting, to help individuals express themselves, explore their emotions, and address psychological issues. It serves as a bridge to the soul, providing a non-verbal way for people to communicate their inner thoughts and feelings. Art therapy is facilitated by a licensed art therapist and can be beneficial for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Who can join?

We offer art therapy services as a complementary approach to traditional counselling. Art therapy can help you express yourself creatively and explore your emotions and thoughts in a non-verbal way. This approach is adaptable to individual needs and can be tailored to suit different age groups, backgrounds, and therapeutic goals.

Is drawing a requirement for art therapy?

No prior art experience or drawing skills are required to participate in art therapy. This form of expressive therapy encourages the use of various mediums, including coloured pencils, acrylics, oil paints, watercolours, photography, digital art, clay, crafting materials, and found objects (such as dried flowers, leaves, rocks, buttons, tissue paper, etc.). The emphasis is on the creative process and self-expression rather than artistic ability. Trained art therapists will provide support and guidance, ensuring that art therapy is accessible to everyone, even those unfamiliar with the materials. Skilled artists are also welcome to join art therapy sessions.
